Magical realism has been my favorite genre since I transitioned to reading adult books during middle school- its been years to say the least- and I have found Alice Hoffman's books to be full of magical occurrences that make ordinary days vibrant.

Camille is the one who achieves his mother’s dream of going to Paris, determined to find the daughter stolen by Jestine’s white lover.

Awash with as much color and depth as as Pissaro painting, Alice Hoffman's "The Marriage of Opposites" tells the story of three generations of a family living in St. Thomas, including the famous painter Camille Pissaro.
